Social Welfare

Besides supervising and monitoring the ICDS projects in East Kameng, West Kameng, Tawang districts, the department is also responsible for the implementation of various Schemes under the Social Welfare department in the district headquarters at Bomdila.

ICDS PROJECT:

There are 5(five) ICDS projects at Bomdila(HQ),Dirang, Nafra, Kalaktang and Singchung-Buragaon manned by 5 CDPOS, -with 197 Anganwadi Centers They are responsible for the implementation of ICDS programmes and Social Welfare Schemes at the project level.

SCHEMES:

1. IGNOAP (Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension) :-
   Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension is paid to BPL beneficiaries above 65 yrs of age. Rs. 200 per Month. Currently 1324 beneficiaries are covered under this scheme.
2. NFBS (National Family Benefit Schemes):-
   Under this scheme, a lump sum of Rs. 10,000.00 is paid to the surviving member of the BPL household earner as a onetime benefit. 60 beneficiaries nave benefited under this scheme during the year 2008-09.
3. State Sponsored OAP (Old Age Pension) :- Under this scheme, the state govt. provides financial support of Rs. 150/- per month to destitute person above 60 yrs and below 65 yrs of age So far 61 beneficiaries are concerned.
4. Persons with disabilities :- Under this scheme, Ex-gratia payment of Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 10,000/- is paid to identified persons with disability as per the level of disability, as allotted by the SW(W&CD) department. Government. of Arunachal Pradesh.
